Squeaks & Rattles Kit

The Squeaks and Rattles Kit is used by automotive professionals around the world to eliminate unwanted interior trim noise. All those irritating rattle, squeaking, buzzing, creaking and ticking noises can now be dealt with using the comprehensive collection of products enclosed within this kit.

The kit compromises and instruction insert, four antifriction coatings, one damping grease and seven different types of tape, felt and foam. (See picture to right, plus Flash pics below).

Within the kit there is a product that caters for the treatment of most material combinations found inside a vehicle - leather, vinyl, various plastics, polished wood, rubber, glass and decorative metals. Dealing with vehicle trim interior noise cannot be done with just one type of product due to the various material combinations, e.g. Leather on plastic, vinyl on wood, leather on leather etc. Normally, only one of the surfaces of a material combination that are producing a noise needs to be treated to solve the problem. Read on below to find the product you need. If unsure of which product to use, test products on spare parts or unseen areas. A content summary of the squeaks and rattles kit follows. Please scroll down the page for more detailed description:

PEOX DF 612 (Gel)

30ml Wipa Pen

A water based, antifriction gel that has different characteristics when applied to different types of surfaces. Although it resembles a grease it dries to form a long lasting film and has excellent anti-squeak properties. The handy pen applicator makes it easy to apply PEOX in small amounts and to thin edges.

When applied to a hard surface such as ABS plastic the product never fully dries, it stays active like a thin film of grease. The PEOX DF Gel has excellent adhesion properties, dries clear in thin layers, will not migrate once dry and is efficient even in high pressure applications e.g. between two plastic parts. When applied in thin layers to soft surfaces such as leather or vinyl, the white gel dries clear and forms a highly elastic coating that stretches with the material.

HOW TO USE: Wipe on product using pen applicator to chosen surface. Allow products to dry, even thin films are effective. Drying time varies according to temperature and humidity but can be speeded up using warm air. Parts can be mounted while PEOX DF is still soft although the product is not at full performance until completely dry.

Seven types of felt, foam and tape supplied in sheets measuring 19cm x 11cm:

Five types of antifriction coating/dry film lubricant:

One type of damping grease:

This air drying, water based antifriction liquid can be considered as a less viscous version of PEOX DF Gel. Milky coloured in bulk but when applied in thin layers is virtually invisible once dry and has excellent anti-squeak properties. The pump spray can be used for large surfaces or to treat hard to reach areas e.g. cracks in dashboards.

AC612/21 liquid is ideal for the treatment of leather, vinyl upholstery or PVC and is suitable for surfaces that are visible by customers due to its invisibility when dry in very thin layers. It is highly elastic and adheres to surfaces very effectively. It prevents stick-slip in dry or moist conditions between surfaces that are rubbed or vibrate against each other.

HOW TO USE: Apply with pump spray and wipe away excess with clean cloth leaving a thin layer. For more precise applications, unscrew pump spray head and dab fluid on to a sponge or cloth. Parts can be mounted while the AC612/21 liquid is still soft although the product is not at full performance until completely dry

AC 612/21 (Liquid)

50ml Pump Spray

This water based antifriction paste is a more viscous version of the PEOX DF Gel and has excellent anti-squeak properties. Although the paste resembles a grease, it is white in bulk but applied in thin layers, will dry to form a colourless coating. A small amount of paste will cover  a wide surface area.

PEOX paste can be used on leather, vinyl upholstery and many hard surfaces. Unlike grease it does not migrate. It is highly elastic and adheres to surfaces very effectively. The clear drying properties  of the paste make it useful even in areas that are visible.

HOW TO USE: Apply the paste using a sponge or cloth and rub out excess. Let the product dry for an invisible result. Drying time varies depending on temperature and humidity but can be speeded up with warm air. Parts can be mounted while the paste is drying although the product is not at full performance until fully dry.

AC-F27 is a clear, tough, dry film lubricant that also has superb anti-squeak properties utilising synthetic lubricating agents. The handy felt pen applicator enables small accurate applications to edges such as plastics, lacquered metals and other hard surfaces.

F27 is ideal for use on a number of common interior trim plastics such as TPO, ABS and ABS-PC. As F27 dries clear and is a tough coating, this makes it a good solution for plastics parts that maybe handled occasionally.

The product is effective in dry or moist conditions and is virtually solvent free. Emission safe - Passed VW50180; passed heat testing VW 90°C for 500 hours. Effective through hot/cold tests (VW Climate chamber test PV2005 bis 60 Zyklen). Lightfast: passed PV1303 5 Cycles. Free of APEO and NMP

HOW TO USE: Apply with pen applicator to the area of concern. The product is effective even in an extremely thin film. F27 can leave a gloss finish on some hard surfaces. Testing on unseen areas is recommended before application. The product is air drying and parts should not be applied until the coating has dried.

AC 602/2 is a clear, energy absorbing  antifriction coating for use on rubber seals that are squashed. The product has excellent anti-squeak properties, is highly elastic and dries clear. The handy felt pen applicator assists application to long rubber seals and edges.

AC 602/2 adheres exceptionally well to flexible rubber. The product eliminates squeaks and sounds that arise when rubber seals rub against glass, metal or plastic (e.g. window and sunroof seals), Even wet glass will not squeak on rubber treated with AC 602/2.

HOW TO USE: Apply with the pen applicator to the seal/surface. An ample amount of the AC 602/2 should be applied. The product must be allowed to penetrate absorbent surfaces and be touch dry before assembly. Resist temptation to rub treated surface with fingers/hands until at least 24 hours after application when the product is fully effective.

Nyogel 774L is a translucent, light viscosity, synthetic hydrocarbon grease intended for mechanical components requiring a light amount of damping. The product was designed to stop noise from driver operated controls and mechanisms.

Nyogel 774L is a fully synthetic grease so will not evaporate or become solid and being a clear grease should not be easily seen when applied e.g. to seating mechanisms. The grease will also improve the free motion of moving parts and is Ideal for metal on metal applications, latches and moving plastic parts such as switches & controls

HOW TO USE: Squeeze the tube of Nyogel 774L to dispense the grease to area of concern. The product is at full performance on application and parts can be mounted and operated immediately.
